COVID-19 has caused hardship throughout our nation. Many first responders, unemployed, and financially strained people are discouraged and choosing to end their lives. We can all make an impact if we learn to identify signs of hopelessness.
This online course uses the 4R method to do an intervention and provide support for someone at risk of suicide.
This class is easy enough for youth as young as 13 to learn lifesaving skills. The skills you will learn can be applied in your homes, workplace, and schools.

Kimberly Franco has always had a passion for helping others and a love for nature. She joined the Army at the age of 18 and became a military police officer, following her father's footsteps in law enforcement.
In her 22nd year of service, she was on her porch waiting for a pair of geese to fly by as they did each evening. She left her phone inside to avoid distractions. That was her " Me time". After the birds flew by, she went inside and looked at her phone. She was instantly in a state of shock to see her brother's suicide note in a text message.
On that day, 23 September, 2011,
her life changed.
She retired from the Army and began full-time work in suicide prevention. Kimberly could no longer fight an enemy who wasn't personal to her; she put her sights on a new enemy - suicide. Now, she fights to help save lives and bring awareness to the rising crisis of suicide.
Kimberly Franco has been a certified trainer since 2000 and has been called upon to train many disciplines and topics.
She was awarded for creating the Soldier Leader Risk Assessment training curriculum for the Army Reserve and she has been a part of the development team for updating the Army suicide prevention training and regulation.
She was recognized by the Department of Defense for her suicide prevention efforts and was awarded for having the "Best Suicide Prevention Program Observance" in 2018.
The 4R training is worthwhile. Sensible, focused, and instructive. Puts your mind in the right place if you need to deal with someone who is suffering. Learn the warning signs and be prepared to intercede.
